Earliness, yield, and fruit quality characteristics in low chill peach-nectarines: a comparison of protected and open area cultivation

This study was carried out to determine the effects of protected cultivation on earliness, yield, and fruit quality characteristics some lowchill peach-nectarine cultivars grown in eastern Mediterranean region Turkey. Phenological observations, yield parameters, were investigated. The chilling durations as CH (chilling hours), CU unit), heat accumulations determined. `Astoria? cultivar reached highest cumulative 29.11 kg/tree 38.72 t/ha, size 131.89 g 61.74 mm cultivation. values under 28% 40% lower than open area cultivation, respectively. accumulation 30% higher for GDH30 results this revealed that low chill showed variable depending duration accumulation.
